Scoring points

The F1 Manager game has 17 rounds; every Grand Prix this season is a round in the F1 Manager game. Every round you can score points in qualifying and the race. In the scoring overview you can see how the points are distributed for each qualifying and race position. A driver that does not reach the finish line will unfortunately not earn you any points.

In case the FIA changes the result of a Grand Prix for whatever reason on Monday or Tuesday after the race, the F1 Manager game result will be recalculated accordingly. The F1 Manager game results published immediately after the race are therefore an unofficial result.

On Wednesday, 72 hours after the start of the F1 race, the F1 Manager results become final. After this time, should the FIA make any changes to the result of the race, F1 Manager game results will NOT be amended. At this point the transfer market will also be opened so you can make changes to your team.

The number of points you have scored will decide your position in the F1 Manager standings. If, at the end of the season, two or more managers end with the same number of points the manager who has the biggest budget left will win. In case the budget is also the same the game organisation will select a winner.

  • How to create a team

A team has two drivers, a chassis and an engine. You will need all these components to complete your team and play the F1 Manager game.

You can only use one part of every Formula One team in your own team. For example: if you buy Jenson Button you cannot also buy the Honda engine he uses as they are part of the same team.

Every F1 Manager receives a fictional budget of 100 million euro. To start your team you must buy two drivers, a chassis and an engine with that budget. The prices of all these components are fixed before the start of the season but will fluctuate during the season according to their performance.

You can name your team whatever you like, and you can also use a fictitious manager name. You will need to provide your real name for our records when you register. Your real name won’t be mentioned in the game if you do not want it to, but we will need it to handle your payment. And should you win one of the many prizes we also need your full name to send you your prize.

If a driver has to miss a race for whatever reason and he will be replaced and you will not earn points with the substituted driver. To score points with this component of your team you will need to switch the driver with a driver that will score you points or you will miss out on these points.

In case a driver makes a switch to a different team you will keep this driver in your F1 team. If the driver switches to a team you already have a component of in your own team this is accepted.

  • Your team value

As a manager you can spend 100 million euro at the start of the season. With this budget you will have to buy two drivers, an engine and a chassis.

With every race you will earn money for every point you score. Every point you score in a race will earn you 50.000 euro. So the more points you score with your team in the Formula One race the more money you will earn.

At the start of the season every driver, chassis and engine have a fixed value. During the season the values of the drivers, chassis and engines will go up and down when they do well, or not. For example when a driver wins a race his value will go up by 9 million euro. Should he finish last, his value will fall by 9 million euro which will make him much cheaper to buy. The maximum value of a driver is 150 million and the minimum of a driver is 1 million euro. If your driver cannot race his value will remain the same.

You can spend the money you earn throughout the season to improve your team and try to score more points during the F1 season.

  • Making changes to your team

After every race you can make changes to your team. You can sell a driver and buy a driver who might score more points for you in the next few races. The transfer market will not be open untill 72 hours after the start of the race, and the transfer market will close as soon as qualifying will begin.

If you would like to change your driver, chassis or engine you will first have to sell one of them before you can buy a replacement. If you sell you will receive 90% of the actual value of what you are selling.

On the transfer market you will find a complete overview of the values of drivers, engine and chassis.

If a team will not finish the season the team will remain in the game and will not score any points for your team. To continue scoring points with every part of your own team you will have to sell those parts of the team.
